Delos Brown is a trial lawyer with 30 years of experience.
From 1980 until the present, he has tried premises
liability cases where the plaintiffs have suffered paralysis, brain
damage, blindness, and disfigurement. He has tried premises liability
cases where plaintiffs, at the hands of a third party criminal,
have suffered murder, rape, kidnapping, robbery, and mayhem. He
has tried product liability cases involving amputation, disfigurement
and blindness as well as automobile accident cases involving brain
damage and paralysis.
In addition, Mr. Brown has tried cases arising out
of business disputes involving shareholder actions, breaches of
contract, wrongful termination, breach of will contracts and defamation.
He has tried a multi-million dollar business interruption case involving
a petroleum refinery.
From 1990 until the present, Mr. Brown's trial practice
has also broadened to include bad faith defense (with an emphasis
on first party bad faith arising out of earthquake claims); defense
of legal malpractice claims; defense of real property damage (including
construction defect litigation); and insurance fraud. He has tried
in excess of 50 civil jury trials.
Mr. Brown was a senior partner at Haight, Brown &
Bonesteel. He supervised 10 attorneys with 0 to 20 years of experience
and was responsible for starting an investigative unit of 5 investigators,
directing them on fraud cases, finding witnesses and taking statements.
From 1973 to 1980, Mr. Brown was with the Los Angeles
County District Attorney's Office as a Deputy District Attorney.
He tried 60 criminal jury trials to completion, including 15 murder
cases and 3 death penalty cases.
Mr. Brown received his B.A. in Economics from Stanford
University and his J.D., with Honors, from George Washington University
School of Law, Washington, D.C. |
